That looks good but how about instead of welding the plate on to the brace just make it a type of t style to be able to bolt yhe brace to it using grade 8 bolts and make it a complete bolt in/
Would have to get side plate at just the right angle for the brace though.
Just a thought.

Looking good.

only problem with bolting it on, is you would have to drill all the way through the frame and weld sleeves in, or weld nuts into the frame, it would be just as easy to weld it up with no bolts

Personally, I think the original plate is overkill. All the other ideas are fine, but it should be ok with the plate as is since the support for the arm will be with the thru bolt...

Am I to assume that on the original design the brace will have to be welded on after installation of the through bolt. If so owners without access to a welder will have to take their truck somwhere to get it finished right.

Correct. But, you will need to take it somewhere for an alignment anyway, (hopefully). Should be a minimal charge since it will already be on the rack...

i think the bolt in style would be much better, just seems a little less permanent. if I bash the truck, I dont want to have to torch - the brackets back off to use them elsewhere....

I don't think that the plates are so expensive that you would have to try and cut them off to reuse them and i believe that welding would be far better and easier then trying to bolt them on.

Yes there is finally. as some of you may know I got an order for a set for a guy running coil overs and dragstar wheels. he also wanted them 1.5" shorter than stock. Plus Shawny B was ready and is ready for his lowers as well as me needing to finish MMs lowers and Kyles lowers.... whew..

So I got the Luv jig back out. expanded my jig stands from one to two then made each stand hold 2 jigs instead of one so now I can have 4 jigs going at once. anyway Ive had to totally redesign the lowers for no bags and then the lowers for bags.

They will be 2 different designs and I think you guys will like that.

Ok heres a pic for Mightymouz, These are your uppers hanging up in my shop.

Image

And heres the pic of the new style lower for no bags. This is the shorter one and it still needs coilover mounts and strut rod mounts and sway bar mounts.
Image

I had to redesign the jig and rework the lower jig to make this new style even though it looks similar to the other one.

Im now making Luv lowers and will be until all sets are done and I will have one extra bag set and one extra no bag set.

I stopped all work for over a week while I was sick then I implemented a plan of making all of one thing and an extra one before moving on to the next thing. this is finaly starting to pay off....

ok so now let me know what you think and Ill have more pics of this finished lower and also the bag lower as well.

so when the lowers are finished they will have the shock mount on them also for the coil over shock were it will bolt to like the factory lowers.

Ok heres a couple pics of the set of 1" shorter lowers. I had to mod my jig just to make these. I can easily do 1" shorter but 1.5 was a stretch. anyway I decided to mod the jig, make these then rework the jig to make the new style. so check these first.

Now understand that the arms for coilovers or hydraulics will look similar to these. The bag arms will be more of a wider arm with a bag plate. Ill have a pic of that prototype tonight.

let me know what you think.

Looks good to me. I like the 1 inch shorter idea, if you have a second set of those, I may be in the market for them also...

Ive already made your stock length arms. If you want an inch shorter let me know asap before I ship these. I had planned on building an extra set anyway.

working on yours today. Im adding in the extra drop. remember since the S-10 balljoints are under the spindle there will be a few inches of drop just from swapping to tubes. plus the tube arms are not as tall as the stock ones so a little more clearance there and Im raising the bushings another inch on the jig. You should have a fairly good amount of drop.

Ok so heres a pic of Kyles lowers. The pic shows the lowers with the bag mounts on minus the rear bushings and brace plates. No need to paint those since they will be getting welded anyway.

Image

I have to prime and/or paint everything since I live a mile in between 2 lakes and its humid here all the time and shit just rusts up... anyway let me know what you guys think. Im finally shipping these for Kyle. Shawny B yours will be the next ones I post here.
