Look how Heidt's and other roadster places brace that. You have several force vectors to contain and can easily do it with 1/8" material.

Yes Ive already sold one set on the internet and one set of uppers to Shawny B.

In other Luv news I got 2 sets of braces cut yesterday and I should get a few more sets done today as well as some bag plates cut. Shawny B suggested there be some plate that goes against the frame where the brace meets it since the frame is so thin. I agree and I have drawn a small plate in CAD that I will cut from 1/8" armor to go behind the brace.

Im also working on some threaded tubes for the bottom of the arms on Mytmouz's arms so he can run the stock strut rods just in case the rear bushing doesnt clear the headers on his truck.

Since I took the lower out to Shawny Bs and test fit it I now know that these fit very well. The only question has been the strut rod and brace. Well now I have it where I can do the rear brace or the strut rod or both.

I also ordered more bushings and more tube to make the S-10 balljoint cups. So now its time for me to finalize the jig and install all the stops and tube holders. These will now be a production item. There are pics of the uppers and lowers on the home page of my website as well as the luv page.

thanks and let me know what you think.

The lower balljoint presses in like any normal S-10 and the balljoint is the same one you can get at any local parts store.

Kyle Im almost done with yours. Im waiting on the bag plates to be cut. Im working on Mytmouz's now. I am out of the upper and lower poly bushings but I already ordered more. so hopefully they get here by the time the rest of the pieces are done.

My CNC guy cut 4 braces already, enough for 2 sets of arms. Its all we had room to nest in the plates he was cutting. anyway Ill get more cut asap and I have the bag plates turned into dxf files on the CNC ready to cut. just have to wait till some 3/16" plate gets cut, probably tomorrow. then the bag plates will be done. Im sure Im gonna make enough for 3 or 4 sets.

I have tubes cut for the bottom of Mytmouz's arms to hold the strut rods. Im not sure if I should weld them on or ship them with the arms just in case the rear bushing works. what do you think??

anyway the whole thing is coming together but I do have several other projects Im doing right now also. Ill update as often as I can.

so this uses the s-10 spindles then? is there a concensus on front shock/spring combo for these arms? im just trying for a good disc brake set-up, i dont really need the 5 lug optin. i do like the idea of poly bushings and readily serviced ball joints tho. :D

If you need these and still want a 6 lug then just order them with balljoints for something thats 6 lug and has disc brakes. Something like a Nissan HB spindle, Isuzu Pup, Mazda B series (although the lower balljoint faces down) or something along those lines. each of those options has a drop spindle available.

Mytmouz Im gonna finalize these and ship them to you. Kyle Im making yours as fast as I can. I still havent gotten the bag plates cut. I told the CNC guy that if he doesnt cut them tomorrow Im not buying anymore tamales. You laugh but Im serious... lol

No bag plates yet. I did get clearance from the boss to get the guy to do it though. Im in the process of making the lowers an inch wider. Then I will redesign the bag plates and begin making these.

Im ready right now for production of these and have plenty of upper balljoint plates and tube ready to go. I am waiting on upper bushings though. Its been a long wait too. Energy Suspension takes forever to get.

is there a reason for using the Armor Plate?

sounds like something that will be a pain to weld to the chassis if you want to go that route.... or something that might be brittle if it happened to be hit with a hard impact.

just curious.

actually the armor plate is because I have access to it. Its also not brittle and wont break in an accident. its also as easy to weld as any mild steel. no difference unless you try to drill it or if you want to shoot at it...

any thoughts on maybe welding a plate on the end of that brace?...like a "T", instead of it just butting right up to the frame and fillet welds, drill a couple holes in the plate for some plug welds and such? it may be overkill but it would make me feel safer :D

heres an edit of your pic

yellow would be the plate, blue would be the weld(outside perimeter, plug holes, fillet weld), pink would be gussets
