as of right now i have a set of 18's with a 45 series tire, i believe that it is about the same as a 20 with a 30 series tire. ive still got about an inch between the firewall and the tires.

OK peeps I went to Shawny Bs today with the lower. The good thing is the lower slid right onto the bushing in the frame. no hammering, no prying just went right on and the bolt went right in.. very sweet.

I took some pics with my phone to give you guys an idea as to fit and placement of everything. I also bolted the rear bushing on and made the template for the rear bushing brace.

Ill have that drawn in the morning and have it cut on tuesday at work. Ill most likely make the brace out of armor plate so it will be strong as hell. Kyle theres no more holdup on yours. I have everything I need except the rtear brace and I should have that Tuesday. I dont have any of the poly bushings for the rear bushing but ill order some on tuesday and send your arms anyway. ill send you the bushings as soon as I get them.

Anyway heres some pics from today at Shawny Bs...

Ill have a drawing of the brace in the morning.

OK, Sunday morning update...

I have the frame brace and bag plate drawn in CAD. Today I will build the other arm to match this one and another set to satisfy the current orders. mytmouz and Kyle C. orders will be done.

Yesterday I cleaned up behind my shop and took a truckload of scrap steel to my buddy Chris' place. Its where my old shop used to be. Anyway I saw a complete Luv there. Not sure if it runs or not but its complete as far as I could tell. The reason Im telling you this is. Im taking another load of scrap today and when I do Im looking at that luv to see where and how the strut rods attach.

Then I can make some tabs to put on mytmouz's arms in case they dont clear the bushing.

Ill measure this morning to see how far back this bushing goes.

since your online this morning...

the distance between the frame/crossmember main bushing back to your header is what? You said 7" before is that correct from the bushing to the header? or what?

in this pic you will see the distance this bushing goes back is 5"

Image

With the main frame bushing and the rear bushing there should be plenty of bracing to hold these arms.

cool so at 5" these will easily clear the header and not get burned up huh...?

could they be an inch wider?

 Got ahead of my self. It is 4 inches from the edge of the bushing to the closest point of the header, however the weldon pieve will be behind that on the frame. Depending on the angle, it should clear at 5, hopefully...

cool, well then please send me a pic of the stock strut rod mount where it mounts to the lower arms and Ill make some tabs for these so you can go with whichever works best. I have several different universal tabs. I just need to figure which would be best to send. I will use a 1/2" bolt for this tab.

as far as the bag guys go they will have to use the rear bushing and eliminate the strut rods to lay out. I just welded the matching arm to the one in the pic. Im making the other sold set today and tomorrow. after that I wont be building any of these until someone orders a set. I have these figured out now and I was surprised how well the lower fit the frame on Shawny B's truck. The bag plates on these will not have holes so that guys running bags can put the holes where they fit best. The holes can be in very different places from truck to truck depending on bag size, wheel size etc.

It bolts to the arm using the 2 lower ball joint mounting holes that are closest to the shock tabs.

Is the bottom factory mount strong enough to handle the offset of the lower A arm without a brace or boxing the mount? I don't have my truck here to look at the factory stuff so I can't look at it. I guess the upper a arm and spindles would help to keep things from twisting.

Tfhere should be a bracket mounting the rear to the frame. I believe that is what they are talking about. Its the same as the lower hot rod arm for the pinto / mustang II front ends with no strut rod.
Try http://www.ubmachine.com/ You might find the pieces you need to complete this.

yes theres a bushing at the rear with a tab off to the side of the frame for bracing. If the frame brace is in your way you can use the stock strut rod mounts under the arm. Im making it work both ways.

as far as the bag plates go they will be made from 3/16" (.188") mild steel HR plate. easy to drill for a bag bolt.

hit me with as many questions as you can think of.

look at the pics on my website of the mitsubishi and Isuzu lowers. theres some install pics and those two trucks also have a brace that goes up to the frame...

Ill find a pic and post it here.. gimme a sec..

Image

The brace is a little different than the Luv but its the same principal.
