So ive found a 75' at a local junkyard, and i have a 76' with a running engine. But the body looks like crap and so does the frame. The 75' looks like its been in a garage since 76'. Ive read everywhere that the motor mounts on the 75' are different then the later models. Im just wondering if the motor mounts are just further back or forward or if they wont work at all for the engine out of the 76'.

Edit - Or will the body parts off the 75' fit on the frame of the 76'??

Im usually good with being patient and waiting for people to answer my questions but id like an answer on the bottom questions as soon as possible. Will the fenders and cab and all from the 75' fit on the 76' frame? I dont wanna give up such a good deal seeing is how the truck is going to be crushed soon and i dont wanna be to late...

not sure never really looked that close... i do know body parts swap but not sure if frame holes line up... you can put the disk brakes on the 75 from the 76 and just modify the motor mounts and maybe trany mount... shouldn't be that hard... or bring it all to the shop and i could do it for you...

I have a 74 with an 80 engine in it. I don't know what they did to get it to work but you can have the mounts that I have for it. I will not be using them.

on the 76 and up they are moved back and set on the crossmember. and if im not mistaken the engine change in 76 too. the angle of the mounting plate might be the same, so if your using a 76 motor with the 75 frame just cut the motor mount on the frame of the 75 as close as you can to the frame and trim to fit on the crossmember. the motor is in the same postion just the motor mount moved, I think. I have a 75 and I was going to use a 78 motor and i ran into this same problem, I was going to try this but just when a differnt motor all together. this is just off the top of my head thinking about it. hope I didnt :? confuse you and was a little helpfull. :D

Thats just what i was gonna do. It'll give me a chance to clean and paint all the body parts completely.

Ya that works better! i thought you were going to just swap the motor over, but ya body swap is better.
