On the underside of the cab and bed, from the factory, was it painted the same color as the exterior? Was any form of undercoating ever applied from the factory?

My 77 is the same light blue everywhere. I don't know if undercoating was ever a factory option.

Thanks labman.

I appreciate the help.

Undercoating isn't pretty, but I would rather have that than rust...

Depending on what you have for rust, I've heard about POR-15. POR stands for 'paint over rust' and some guys swear by it. Also Rustoleum has (or at least used to have) a hammer finish "Rust Cap" paint. I generally don't like undercoating.

That said, I usually just paint over it with black paint. (Never really had any major rust issues to work out though). Maybe that's a "Do as I say not as I Do"

I had to put new floors into mine, si I did rubberized undercoating. I don't mind it because I am never looking at it unless I am working on it
