This question is for the guys with the first generation luvs with the 1.8l (or is 1.9l) stock diesel engines. Are these radiators dual core or single core like in the gas trucks?

I've swapped the 2.2l diesel running gear into my '75 but the 2 core radiator from the donor ('82) has different dimensions. The '75 didn't have a radiator when I got the truck but I've been told it was only a single core.

I'm trying to figure out if I should try to source a stock radiator that would have gone into an Aussie diesel or try to find a used radiator and have it re-cored like Rondog has done. I like the "psuedo" stock look, otherwise I'd take the route that the small block chevy guys do and get an oversized aluminum radiator.

Thanks,
Eric Q.

The stock radiater in my C190 1.9 Diesel Luv is a 3 core with fat top and bottom tanks, If i was in your shoes Eric i would fit an aftermarket 3 core alloy rad. like the v8 guys. My trucks needle sits in the same position on the gauge no matter what time of year or how much im towing or have loaded on the back. :ebiggrin
