 Post subject: Too Much Boost.......

I pushed it a little too hard a few days ago and here was the result. 28lbsof boost, pump gas and alky Injection.

Cause? I made a mistake and swapped the wrong distributor module in my car. instead of retarding like it was supposed to - it advanced!

fried me right out! you should have seen the bright orange flash! LOL

Anyways, ALWAYS becareful of the 5 and 7 pin HEI modules.

This was a junkyard tired Buick 3.8 turbo motor.

Stock, i think this engine boasted a massive 175 hp.

im guessing with the times it had in the past and how it felt im saying a solid 450-475hp.

Mind you this is a BONE STOCK buick v6.... cast pistons, crank, cheesy head gaskets, etc etc. This was an engine chosen to expirament on. Were testing a new type of draw-thru turbo system - as we have a bone to pic with the SFI guys!
