As bad as I hate it the Luv is going to have to sit for a little while. I have bought a S-10 and need to get it going for my daily driver and we are going to pull the blower off the luv to get some times with just motor and then hose it so I have a good comparrison for the 427. I am hoping that I can get in the 6's and keep it streetable. 7.34 is not that far away from a 6.99 so shortly I will be back at the strip and see what happens.
The 427 is ready for final cleaning and then assemble. I will be changing short blocks using the current cam and heads.
I am going to let it cool off here and head back to the strip in mid Sept. My only expence will be a intake gasket and fuel.

It's good to see somebody is thinking with a level-head. Some of us would go crazy having something like your truck on hold. Being smart and methodicaly calculating your next step to make sure it's going in the right direction is the most responsible thing to do. Be wise today so it will run correctly tomorrow, get it running now and it will blow up tomorrow.

And now for other pressing matters. WHERE THE HELL IS THE VIDEO OF YOUR TRUCK!?!?!?!?

My friends car goes 7.2 at the local 1/8th mile strip and then i just saw him pulling out of his driveway on his way to Vegas (320miles away). His other car went 5.9's and drove about 75-80miles a day round trip for work. Its all a matter of how tuneable the setup is, and how big your radiator is the rest is how much you are willing to spend on fuel and how long you want the motor to live.

I however do know the feeling about putting the hot rod on hold. mine was on hold for a couple of years while I got the family, house etc. stuff done. Drove me CRAZY! so now i am back and it feels GOOD!
