I can hook you up with a good one ready to rebuild if you are coming to L.A. for any reason.

We have a couple members in the Auburn / Sacramento / Roseville areas. That's not too far from the bay. Look through the classifies/ parts available threads. There must be something.

Hey Chavy, what's the gas mileage you are getting with that 383? I'm thinking it may not be worth converting a V8 setup back to the 4 cyclinder. Why not get a smaller V8? I bet you could get close to the stock Luv motor with the right setup, as long as you don't have a lead foot all the time. =D

The step side with the 383 I don't think is a LUV. He has a 4X4 LUV. I think he's looking for a 76 and newer motor.

I have a 1.8 out of a 76. You can have it if you pick it up; I'm in Phoenix, AZ. I would hate to scrap it. It needs timing and head work. The owner before me was a dumb@ss and broke a sparkplug in the head and did a bad job fixing it. It ran fine and I parked it after it started having timing problems. I pulled the engine so I could start on my v6 swap.
