Got a Supercharged 3800 for my luv, Gonna mount a 200r out of a 85 s10 and stab it in the Luv. Of course I gotta make everything from scratch as the engine is out of a Riveara which is a front wheel drive. But Im hoping to put something together that will work. Does anyone out know if a company that makes diy header kits for buick v6's?

being that this is a series 3 buick, what do the exhaust ports look like? if there simular to the gen 1/2 buick V6 then I have a set that will fit into a luv with out too much headaches.

Any way you can get the factory exhaust that went with it? This would help you to get any fab work started with the exhaust. You might be able to modify the exhaust to work. It would at least give you a head start on your exhaust port measurements.

Oh I forgot... Good luck, it looks interesting.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Good Luck! Would enjoy seeing pics of everything you do. This is the type of drive train installation I love to see. Makes you think about every little detail and what might be affected down the line.

Don't know which one will work, but I had a transmission guy tell me that there are rear wheel drive trannsmissions that will bolt on the engine.

If memory serves that block is basically the same as early years and the bellhousing is the BOP pattern. It might also have the side mount boss's on it.

I had a late 90's firebird came thru my yard that had the 3800 supercharged engine in it. It had a set of headers and an overdrive automatic tranny in it. So there are rear wheel drive versions out there.

side mounts yes, bellhousing no.

The later series engines used a 60* bellhousing pattern this is the number one reason these engines dont get used as much. Best bet is a 700R4 from an S10 or the T5.

Just bought a 98 Camaro for the daughter and it has a GenII 3800 V-6 . Looks just like this . Manifolds could be the same in a rear drive ap and 4l60e OD trans . Does this have the funky plastic heater hose elbows ? The Camaro motor is rated @200 hp and will spin the tires in the heavy Camaro , i can only imagine it with a blower .

A lot of people put these in Fieros (which I'm actually planning on doing). Put the 3.4 pulley on it, great upgrade.
