 Post subject: Stock 4spd trans length?

I tried the Magical search button with no luck, so I am breaking down and just asking :)

Does anyone have a stock 4spd trans out of the truck and can Measure the overall length for it? Mine is a 76 if that matters.

My 4x4 4-speed is 28 1/2" long.

Is a 4x4 4spd the same length as a Non 4wd 4spd? If I had a jack, I'd just jack it up and measure mine...

how accurate yo uwant it

it looks about 29" long thats out of a 72 2 wheel drive luv

Thanks for the measurement and sorry about the delay in responding, I never got the reply notification :roll:

29" will be close enough for me. I am looking at other engine trans combos for the motor swap and this gives me an Idea on how different ones will fit. Where the shifter might come through the floor for example.

I just want to make sure whatever I go with I have enough room for a fmic, fans and radiator. Not so tight like up front the v8 swaps make it.
