The host is BO sawuoff@uneedspeed.net up in Havasu city, AZ I believe. Texas guys know him as the "out of towner" from his trip to Houston where chip and 1 other car took his $$$ away. Anybody interested should have a low 9 sec (pref. low 8 sec) car that hooks at your disposal or you would just be throwing $$ into the air. I imagine they will probably break it down to smaller subcategories but thats just my guess.

My friend is trying to get his chassi'd 63 Nova done for this.... all alum 477" small block on 2 stages and burning 15% nitromethane. thats what kind of stuff should be out there. basically race cars with some license plates zip tied on it.

If this event is going to go off, there should be some decent hardware there.

Yep, same guy... u've seen the TA run on the street against Ricky's mopar. It ET's in the 1/8th at about 5.90ish. (low 9). I sold him the 63 nova chassis years ago and its finally coming together. it has a min-tub with a 13" tire, 4 link, 10 pt bar. I believe the front clip is getting chopped off soon and its getting a mustang II strut front end. Theres a picture of his new motor in the latest Fastest Street Car Magazine under the article "Hell Yeah I Street Race" . pretty insane stuff for the street.

The goal on the TA was to get a 9 sec time slip... it far exceeded our expectations and almost collected an 8 sec before the "incident". this new motor I would expect a low 8 on a conservative tune and good traction but if it happens to crack 7's thats icing on the cake.

You musta been passing thru my hood if you saw it in the garage cuz i live 1 street over from him.

oh that was when he was gutting his car and putting the lexan in I think. I got there right after you guys left. How is Rick these days? I usually see him driving all over town but I have not seen him in a long time. I remember him from way back in the day when he used to run a super clean big block 67 chevelle. I still tease him about all the bandanas and the trench coat he used to wear (this was the late 80's in his metal head phase). his street racing stories about back then crack me up... they all start off with:"I was getting ready to race so and so and MAN I WAS SOOOO WASTED!"

ha that does sound like some shit he would say, ne ways hes doing alright, blew up the old motor in his belvedere and put a new one in it. We went to the track like 3 weeks ago and it went 11.30 and it was running consistant 11.90 before with the nitrous and its on the motor now so, good stuff. Man im really interested in seeing what that nova is going to run cause that guy had some crazy shit before. Doesnt he have a red vett now. Got to go later
