Not sure how many they have, and not sure why they said they couldn't get them any more, but now they have them again.

Thanks Ben,

As always you are right on top of the latest information!
Perhaps the reason these became available again is that Hooker Industries was purchased by the Mr Gasket Co and the demand was sufficient for them to consider production again? I have also noticed in the Summit Information that you can purchase just the motor mount kit (part number HOK 12606 HKR) for $133.95, or you can purchase the motor mount and transmission mount as a kit (part number HOK 12630 HKR) for only $11.00 more! $144.95 and it states that this mount is only made for an automatic trans!
I see where they are also offering the headers needed for installing a sbc into a 72-80 Luv again. Either painted for $429.95 or plated for $669.95. Ouch! That is a lot of money, but I will say these headers fit very well and are easy to install.
But they sure make it a pain to change the oil filter, I have to do it through the drivers side fender well, behind the tire!!

Thanks again Ben, appreciate the update!

How much demand is there for the mounting kits, auto and stick also for headers. If there is enough I will run the original V8 Luv header jigs and I have the stamped pieces to assemble the bolt in mounting adapters.
I will also try to get some additional pics up, on a couple that have been done in the last couple of years and the custom headers.

I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes with this post.

It looks like the HOK 12630 HKR Part number is for the transmission mount only.

The oil filter is a bit of a pain. I cut a notch in my fenderwell towards the bottom, just big enough to squeeze a filter through between the frame and the fenderwell.

Old Rob, feel free. Catch me up to speed, did you make these or just have the drawings or ???

Hi Not sure what you'r asking, yes I bought the Hooker Headers, and yes I make the power steering mounts and have the hoses made locally. I also have a machine shop that re-machines your old steering pitman arm so you can use it on later Trooper and Isuzu Pump P/s boxes.

If you wish to have pictures sent to you I can do it on e-mail, but still having problems posting them here. I just bought a new super printer that has all the latest gadgets on it including a SD port and a camera connection so maybe I can scan and send pictures in the near future. I just printed out a picture of my 78 Luvs engine and you can tell what kind of bugs are on the radiator grille!!! Now if I can only figure out how to send them????

I took some pictures of the stock pitman arm both before and after machine work, including the demenisions (sic) and will have these very soon.

I admit to being older than dirt, but I've been doing these swaps for a long, long time.
Actually I joined LUv truck.com about three years ago, but couldn't remember my log in information so I just started anew.
I just hope I am not coming across as some kind of Know it all!!

Just checked the Summit description and you are right, it does look like the transmission mount only is $144.!!!
That is ridiculous, you can make your own very easily!!

Sorry for the confusion. My comment about the drawings was for Old Rob above.

If you want to send pictures about the PS conversion, that would be cool.

Someone said they had 5 sets. Hooker was supposed to have sold them the last ones they had made. They have no longer make them. :(

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

It's good to know Summit has the parts again, but I think I'll probably go with what Old Rob has. It costs less, he has some good instructions, keeping the ebrake in particular, and is there to answer questions when you are doing your install.
