 Post subject: 87 pup ?

ok i been tryin to do little research but not really having luck i have a 87 isuzu pup bagged layed out on chrome hummer H3 wheels sorry just kinda do little intro since i new but anyways i my motor (1.9) cracked this winter and i been trying to find out what all motors swap onto the 4spd trannys i know the 1.8 does but i really want to know if the 2.3 would bolt on it or if i did the 2.3 and could do the 5spd tranny and it all bolt up

plz in help bad let me know

1.8-2.6 have the same pattern you can go with the stock 4 speed or upgrade to the 5 speed. If you go with the 5 speed you will have to have a custom driveshaft made.

Why? If it's a later-model 5-speed with different spines on the output shaft, why not just use the 5-speed's whole driveshaft?
