When I was younger I had a friend that had a single wide that had a wood burning stove to help supplement the heating responsibilities. Now jump to the present and I need a wood burning stove to help with the heating chores, of the all electirc trailer, so I can provide heat to the family without hooking up the generator. The wife does not know how to hook it up. She does know how to keep a fire going, LOL!!! so has anyone installed a wood stove in their mobile home that can give some good advise/ or direction? Thanks Lee

BE CAREFUL! There are really specific clearances to the wall and you will need a fire resistant material like tile, concrete, stone, etc behind and underneath it. There is a concrete board you can buy and screw to the wall and cover in stone or tile. Also, the venting will be specific to wood only. Pretty sure it needs to be stainless steel 3 wall pipe. Go to a fireplace shop or some place that sells them and they will get you taken care of. Safety is a big concern. A carbon monoxide detector on a low wall plug would be a good plan as well. Good luck!

some of those things are sealed so good that a candal can burn all the oxegen out of the thing.
i dont think i need to tell you what happens, if a person does not have air to breath!!!!
have a window open a little, or a vent some wear so fresh air can get in.

Mobile home specific wood stoves draw there air through a vent cut in the floor so as not to consume the air in the home and also stops drafts through any window or door.
