I found a Chevy Luv How to article on making your Luv a T-Top, and wondered if anyone on her has already done it. They do not go into great detail on everything, like how it latches down and everything.

Here is the link I am talking about:
http://www.chevyluv.zoomshare.com/1.shtml/T-top

Side note*
I know this came from one of the members on here, but did not know if they ever did it or not.

Dude that is a cool customization. You know, it never ceases to amaze me how shaggy and greasy guys from the 70s look. I also like how he did the whole thing with a freakin' hack saw. And, in case you couldn't tell it was the 70s, the truck comes complete with a CB antenna. Classic!

What I like best is back then, how this is basically an advertisement for his product, but about 90% of what it takes to make the T-Top is shown. Now a days you only see a picture with a truck before and after the kit is installed.

I know once i get the interior out of my parts truck, I will at least attempt it on that truck. Like I stated before, I am most concerned about latching, and there is the whole, He cut part of the door off, so what do i do about keeping to leak there.

If I got it where it works on the parts truck before the 75 makes it in the paint booth I will actually attempt to make a T-Top for it.

yep that’s my site. the link is just below my picture of my truck... anyway i cant find a pacific t-top any where for a luv but i did some measuring and found that a t-top from and early Monte Carlo made by fisher t-tops and also Hurst t-tops will work nicely with just a little trimming or a slight 2 inch top chop. here are the ones i am useing on the cosworth luv

Ok thanks, I found a site that sells them:
http://www.t-topsonline.com/?gclid=CObi ... GgodC3PunQ
So if i go this route, I will have to wait till I have got 90% of my purchases done to make sure i can afford this. Now has anyone done this with out buying a kit? And just the part of the roof you have to cut out?

those are the wrong ones you need ones for a 72/77. the other one are to long. I got mine on eBay for a killer price of $50. if you watch sometimes you can get good deals on them. some like these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 26_fvi%3D1
also since then other cars have been made with the t-tops like the 300zx ,Nissan Pulsar, Pontiac Fiero ,Toyota MR2 ... they may even work better and i see them in the wrecking yards for about $50 to $100

Thanks for that info. Before I go out to the shop to do the tear down on the parts truck I might go stop at a couple junk yards and see what I can find. If I can get the stuff for about $50 I will go and get it then play around installing it on the parts truck, if not I will just keep my eye out on ebay and what not.
