A Buddy of mine has the 1st generation Luv. The motor is no good. I have a 1.9 Isuzu out of a 84 Pup. Will it bolt up to the four speed tranny? What motor mounts would be used? Thanks for any help that You can add. Larry

If the truck is a 76-80 then the 1.9 will bolt up, for the mounts just use the ones off the 1.8

How many headlights does it have? and are the tailights horizontal or vertical? the early trucks 72-74 had horizontal tailights, and 75 up are vertical.

Dan,

It has four head lights and the tail lights run horizontal to the bumper.

Its a 73 or 74 then unless the bed has been swapped onto a newer truck/frame. If the motor has the exhaust and intake on opposite sides then the 1.9 will bolt to the motor mounts and tranny, if both intake and exhaust are on the same side (left or drivers side) then no go on the direct swap. Motor mounts and tranny are different. You could weld in different mounts and swap 1.9 motor and tranny. You might need a few other parts, throttle cable/linkage, etc to make it work.

A 72 would have round tail lights under the tailgate. A 75 would have the old style motor but tail lights running up the corners of the bed like a 76-80.
