the wire that goes from the starter to the coil is causing a fuse to blow... I'm not sure what the fuse is for. it has a black wire with a yellow stripe and a white wire going into it. I believe this is the cause of my battery not keeping charge... any ideas? please help.

Hmm...
I'm not sure what's causing it to short, but there's a complete wiring diagram under information on the homepage.
This happened to mine (or something very similar) and I just split the two wires that come off the fuse, put in two fuses with half the amp rating as the original, and waited for one to blow.
This was 7 years ago, and it hasn't blown the fuse since.

Check the ballast resistor & that wiring for a short circuit or failure.
