Thanks for all the nice comments. I worked my ass off on this motor. Don't worry, though, I've still got enough ass left to sit here and type a note. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I bead blasted everything, all the way down to the bolts for the front cover. I have no idea how many hours I put in on this one. I think it'll look better in the engine bay...

That looks cleaner than a few crate motors I've seen right out of the box brand new. Very nice work. Now the problem will be that you'll be sticking that beautiful piece of art into an engine bay that I know can't be as clean as that motor is. ;) If you find someplace with a steam cleaner available to clean down an engine bay in town please let me know. I've got a trooper with an oil leak from hell and a couple of LUVs that really want come clean.

I'm going to go to the car wash in Philomath and use some degreaser and the high pressure nozzle on mine. If you want to go too, I'll let you know when I'll be going.

I"m contemplating a 1.9L 5-spd replacement power-train for my LUV. I've just got the ol' 1.8L running good and will see how it does before I plunk down the $150 for a questionable engine and $250 for the trans. I'm probably going to do the trans anyway.

If I swap out the 1.8L I'll give you a holler.

Well, the motor's sold. I am officially turning this thread over to dkay as he's the owner of the motor you see in these pics. Lesson learned: be sure the truck is what you need before you spend $1000 building a motor.

On another note, the truck is going too. I'm not going to put a price on it for fear of getting flame sprayed for asking too much (or better yet complete silence and lack of interest). I know what I have in it and what I believe it is worth. For those of you who have been following what I have done to my truck, you know that I have poured a lot of time, money, and effort into it.

That being said, anyone interested in the "Urban Fighter" was gonna be, let me know. I'll take offers into consideration, or if anyone seriously wants to know the ins and outs, I'll take the time to tell you along with my expected sale price.

Later...

Oh yeah, sorry if I sound bitter, I just didn't want to come to this as I am losing half my ass on the sale of this truck.

Edit: Coming back and reading what I wrote, I kind of sound like a BITCH   . I'm not afraid of flamespraying, I just don't want to deal with it (not that the majority of you would do that, but there's always someone)...

4 words: The family won't fit.

When I bought the truck, I planned to use it as a daily driver for school and to take my son wheeling occasionally. Well, we have decided that we need something that we can use all the time for getting around, carrying things, camping, and the like. The Luv is just to small (and going higher doesn't change how much room is inside  ). Anyway, most of the work is done on this truck, so I would like to sell it to some lucky person or trade for a Trooper or something similar (partial trade if need be).

That's the story. I don't like it, but I gotta do it...

I feel your pain my brother I am going to be in the same boat when I get back from this god forsaken place. I dont want to get rid of it but necessity deems it, and not to mention the military only will pay for shipping one vehicle overseas so thats why I am opting fot the Harley it will fit in my household goods and not count as a vehicle being shipped. Well anyway I just figured that I would just let you know that the feeling is mutual!! my two pennies
Later bro

Yeah, I've been playing that military moving game for 10 years now. I brought a bike and a new car here when I came. The household goods angle is a great break (If you're house doesn't weigh too much)...

Also, I'm sending you a PM...

all that trouble and money, when you could have did a motor swap for less. I only spent about a 1000 bucks on my V8 swap, and afterwards I wasn't stuck with a gutless pile a junk.

What the crap is up with all the damn flaming????? Jesus, people! This is a site for helping people, not bashing them. If you want to crap on people, go to a ford forum or something. All I've seen on here the past couple of months have been a bunch of smart-asses and dickheads. It's getting old.
