 Post subject: tranny trouble

I just dropped in the engine in my stock 79 luv 4x4... but now the release fork on the manual tranny is really loose... I can move it back and fourth really easily...what's the problem???

did you install a new clutch as well? If so you just need to adjust the cable and all will be well.

I did but the cable is not connected yet. I go under the truck and use my hand to move the lever back and fourth easily ... is that normal...

Yes it is, no re-install the cable, adjust it and hook up the return spring and away you go.
