Let's say you have a good running 364. It's an oddball motor that parts will be hard to acquire when you have a problem. All parts for the install will have to be hand fabbed. You are gonna have to swap the front suspension/axle at minimum to accomodate the size. Then, when it's time to replace the 364, you will have to redo a lot of the custom work if you decide to go with another engine series, so you pay for/do it twice. Or, you have to look for another oddball...

not to mention its heavy and well......... just doesent make that much power. Unless your a die hard fan of the caddy and its a personal agenda / have a point to prove - the basic Small block is a better choice.

Sometimes I wish I had gone with the small block, as it would have been alot cheaper and alot easier! With the money I have spent to get my buick to be compettative I probably could have had a small block push me into the 10s already.

oh well.

There is a reason that the small block is still around and the Cadi motor is a dieing breed.

Yall got a point, but the motor was free and I have already bored it .20 and homed it, and I got the heads port snd poloshed and a cam, intakeand carb. As for the suspention I did a spring conversion and put dana 60 underneath the front and a 14 bolt in the back with about 10 inchs of lift. Its mainly because I wanted to use something alittle different instead of using the same old 350, everyone uses those, they are good engines and they are cheaper to build. But it aint a drag truck its mainly show and alittle offroad, I already have a mud truck for that.

I'd like to see photos of this when you get a chance. The topic started with asking for advice on the 364 install, sounds like you're committed already... :)

If you're looking for suspension/location advice, etc. you might want to go over and post in the 4x4 area. There are people here who are really knowledgeable about setting up a SAS, tubing, lift, etc.
