Are head gaskets for larger bores available for these engines? (G180 & G200) On mine the steel ring is a bit smaller than the bore and, when the head is torqued down, the piston hits and binds up on the #4 at tdc. My local parts house said no. I'm am going to check 2 other sources in the AM. Just wondering if anyone else has ever found them.

The head gasket was a high quality, made in Japan, I think Stone was the name. I bought a Felpro, not as good a quality imo, but the hole in the gasket is just a hair bigger than the bore and it worked great. Should have it running by Sat. 8)

It fired tonight. New head gasket and Pertronix ignition. Have a couple odds and ends to fish up Sat.
And a day to empty all the junk out of the bed. I sware, any truck that sits around here for a week or more becomes a catch all. :x

Runs great. Drove it all over today. Just needs a wax job now. Next I'll tear into the 4X4. Offy intake, weber, header is at the shop now getting ceramic coated in chrome color. Then I'll get the brush gaurd and towbar welded on. Then a cheap paint job and it'll be ready for Thanksgiving. 8)
Meanwhile the white '80 just keeps on running. My son drives it everywhere. Been back a forth to Thousand oaks a couple times , and to and from the LA co fair in Pomona where he is working, now.... untill tonight when it ends.

Yea, it only took me 6 months. :D And people wonder why I didn't become a mechanic. I only work on them when I feel like it. That doesn't work when a customer is in a rental car.
