My first car was a '78 Chevette. And I have had 10 or 11 Chevettes since then.

Learned to drive on a '65 Rambler Classic 660. 232 6 cyl/AT.

Then dad 'borrowed' me a '67 Valiant with a push-button tranny and a slant 6. Definately a panty dropper that one (ok, so that's a lie), my high school 'friends' nicknamed it 'The Turd' (and that's not a lie). It was sort of a bronze/brown.

First car I bought myself was a '58 Pontiac Chieftan, 348 V8/AT, no problems with my manhood, it was PINK. Actually, the girls liked that one. It had about 1/4 ton of chrome on it...

All this mess was 4 doors, and I still like 'em. Both my current Saab's are 16V, 4 dr, 5 speeds. Nothing like a turbocharged grocery getter... :D

My first was a 1976 Dodge Aspen in 1982 for about 6 weeks then I totalled it. Next up was the 1972 Luv that I bought minus motor thus the 383 stroker transplant.

WHY???? :D J.K.

My first was my grandmothers hand me down '68 Buick Riviera. 430 BB and a posi rear on skinny tires. I don't know dad, why does the tranny slip now?? :smt102 :ewink
So he traded that in on a brand new '82 S10. V6 5 speed short bed. Nice truck, except it was a lemon and the lemon law was a year away from being passed. There was some sort of mismatch between the eng. tens and rear, and it would ruin clutches every 8 or 9000 miles. And no, it wasn't me. I drove my sisters '80 mustsang 4 cyl. 4 speed all over the place with no problems.
So the BBB help my dad out of that truck and I got a new '83 1/2 ton silverado. My dad's rule to me was... wait 6 months to make sure all is good with the truck and then you have to lower it. He likes the way they look. What 17 y.o. kid is going to argue with that?? 8) I had that truck untill '90 when I had to sell it to get a '86 Suburban because the wife wouldn't let me put car seats in the bed of the truck. I'll post pics some time soon.

A 4 door 1965 Impala. What a chick magnet in the early 80's...Cost me a $100.00 to buy it. It took a while to scrape up the dough. I earned $5.00 cash every 6 hours working in a combination pool hall and bait shop... :esad

1985 Chevy S-10 Blazer with the POS 2.8L 6 cylinder engine. I guess if there were a LUV SUV that would be it...but damn I wish there was some intelligent Japanese engineering in that car. The mid 80s were not Chevy's finest hour.

I did learn to drive in my sisters 79 LUV, wish I still had it. It had the 4 speed center counsel, Mikado with buckets and A/C. My first car was a 56 oval/rag Baja Bug.

I know the 72's have the round lights,I happen to own one :ebiggrin I thought only the 73's had the other style under the bed, was unaware the 74's had it too. Do the 74's share the doors (outside handles) of the 72-73 models too?
