Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

do we need to start a Hurricane LUV fund?

I remember going through the ice storm last year.... lots of chainsaws going all the time, lots of generators running.... and it all takes gas to run'em

Well , i just got back to work for my regular shift , but just got phone service yesterday . Got power back last sunday late ($38 a day for gen gas was killing me ) . FEMA trucks finally hauled off the debries . I have spent $1850 in tree work and worked like a dog for a week to get this place cleaned up . Ended up loosing 8 trees , 4 holes in the roof , sheetrock/ ceilings associated with the water leaks , carpet in master bedroom and living room , cracked driveway , busted up gezebo , but things are finally getting back to normal . This was a bad one for me . I probably won't stay through another , as my wife won't let me . One cool story , I was outside in the driveway when a power guy was driving by and i flagged him down . He was assesing the power lines on friday about 4:30 pm . After a little chat about the buisness at hand , he said " that's a good looking old Chevy ". My responce was " which one"? I had the white 67' backed out of the garage , the luv was still in . He was from NC and I said take a look if you like . He came up by the garage and saw the Luv and was like . WOW! I told him i messed around with some local drag radial stuff . I fired it up all my neighbors out in the yards , just generators buzzing everywhere . Turns out the guy has and runs a true ten 5 car and i have seen it on another forum . I go inside and give him 2 houston raceway park t shirts i had that were close to new . Within 30 minutes i had 7 linemen working past there quitting time to string power to me . I had ice cold water for them and shook everyone of thems hand and introduced myself to everyone . anyway meet some great people and had power like 3 days later . OH , all three of the leaners in the last picture and the pine by the hottub came down .

Good. only feed them enough to keep them there but still hungry, and they will keep all the other kritters away.
Just get them fixed so you don't end up with 40 of them. :D
