The search button is your friend on this site.

On these LUVs, the tans/transfer case is all one piece. Only a few select Isuzu blocks mount up to the bell housing.

If you are a good fabricator/welder, anything is possible. But you would need to use a different trans. and tranfer case.

This is what i came up with quickly I still have some more to add but this may give you some things to think about.

Things to think about when you install a 4.3
The year of the 4.3 you will use.
The early model 4.3 was built in 1984 (California model) 1985 (49 states). I am not sure when Chevrolet started using the 4.3 in the S-10 however I do know in 1984 (the year I have) was the first year it was installed in the full size Chevrolet truck. The problem I had with this version of the 4.3 was the oil pan, it must be modified for uses in the 4X4 LUV. The later version used in the S-10 have an available S-10 4X4 oil pan.
Exhaust Manifolds I had two choices on the exhaust manifolds.
Hooker headers for the 4.3 LUV conversions:
These would not work with my LUV. With the engine installed on stock C-10 motor mounts and 1 ½ inches of rubber and plate steel to adapt them to the stock LUV mount pads. The collectors ran into the Torsion bars and prevented installation of the headers.
Chevrolet Stock Tube manifolds: I am not sure what these came off of, I have looked into it but have not been able to track them down. When I bought the eng I was told it was from an 84 C-10 if that is the case my guess would be a California model. Most older trucks and cars have cast-iron manifolds these tube manifolds came with my 4.3 and are manifold shaped but are made out of tubing similar to headers.
Will you use a Carburetor or Fuel Injection?
I started out with a Holley 390 CFM carb. Then changed to a Holley TBI Fuel injection.
All the rear end parts on my LUV are stock. I had a custom drive shaft built. After about 10,000 Miles had to replace the rear U-joint after it split.
