If you can get it off with out making it worse I am sure you can. I don't remember the name of glue to use. I have heard to not use 3m upholstery glue. Not that it is bad stuff, I think it is the direct heat from the sun is the problem.

Ok found this on the Hotrodders Bulletin Board
==========================================================================
Just make sure the glue is rated for high temperatures. 3M 08090 (black can) is high temp top and trim adhesive, but 3M 90 (green can) is not high temp, only "high strength". Whatever you do, don't use 3M 74 or 3M 77, they just don't work. This is especially important on the horizontal or overhead applications Shawn was talking about.

They don't know Luvs, but a lot of other stuff. You can read with out registering.
I did a post on this for you.

Mine is doing the same thing. I just had my windshield replaced and wish I had tried to do something with my dash before I put the new one in. You would have easy access to the front part of the dash that way. At least you would have a shot at fixing it without removing the whole dash.

if you do, do it on a very hot day... i have taken about 4 or 5 dashes off form ok (1 crack ) to top ruff but bottom good (good for cap) and as long as you go slow and its hot you should be ok but you must remove gauges ,ash try and glove box along with loosing the steering column and take off the pods next to the column oh and the side vents... 9 out of 10 time the old glue is shot so its not to hard to do

I have a brand new dash that I would like to get reproduced identical to the original, but once I found out the price of the molds, I am not so sure anymore. I have to do more research and check some other places. The one place I contacted put the mold prices at $8,000 - $12,000 depending on what process they use. I think this is quite high, but it may very well not be considering all that has to go into the manufacture of these things. I haven't mentioned much here about it since I bought the NOS dash, but I certainly have not forgotton about the whole idea. I could use 2 or 3 new dashes for my trucks as well! But with that kind of expense it takes a lot of investigation and cash to do it. I also have a few manifolds that I am sitting on, so that has things in check a bit. I definitely will check into the whole deal more probably after Summer and will go from there.

The dash is just foam and vinyl right? Any metal bracing in it?

Yeah, just foam and vinyl. It is vacuum formed polyurethane foam with vinyl skin.

Is the vinyl hard or soft? The dash pad soft? I don't have one, so I don't know.

My dash is starting to lift up from the back too. But in my case, my windsheild has a big crack running through the passanger side. When I go to replace that, I could fix my dash and kill two birds with one stone. :wink:

I realize this is an old post, just curious how this all played out? Did anyone try to glue their dash back down where they peel up back by the windshield. I have my windshield out now preparing for paint. I figured this would be the time to address the "peeling up" issue. After finding the right adhesive to make it adhere to the metal again I wanted to possibly try this..... http://gtam.silvahalo.com/dashrepair/ I want to do this without pulling the dash though.

I looked for adhesives the other day at the Home Depot. There is a ton of adhesives available but I am not sure what is the best for foam to metal application.

Any ideas??
