Yesterday I was watching, I think it was motor trend, and they had a Suburu on there that had a 4 cyl. putting out 300hp & 300fp of torque. I thought that was pretty impressive. Ive seen hopped up Hondas and what not, but this was a factory optioned car. 0-60 was 4.6 sec. and it scaled at 3660lb. I think they said cost was around $30k. Not exactly an econo grocery getter, but impressive none the less.

The 300 hp factory built car they are probably talking about is the STI version of the WRX. I think the new one is running a Turbocharged/Intercooled 2.5L flat four. It is a 2004 model year, I believe. A 2.0L version has been available in Japan and other areas for years, but is only available here this year (finally)...

It is a bad-assed little car.

forced inductions does wonders... you could make a John Deere haul ass with a hair dryer on it. i have a lot more respect for the normally aspirated fast imports than the turbo cars.

I like the honda S2000's - 2.0L 4cyl making 240hp, redlines at 9000, rwd w/6speed tranny, all motor no power adders, I've read they can run low 14's all day long and high 13's if pushed hard enough. Thats runnin with Z28's and Mustang GT's....not bad for a 4banger.

i ran a S2000 with a big ass wing a few days ago in my Z28. was pretty decent but it couldnt hang. still did better than most ricers.

a few months ago my friend in his mild built C4 vette ran one from a roll and i dont know what this S2000 had in it but my friend had to squeeze on it just for insurance.
