new scam going around people are stealing licsense plate to do gas run. They steal your plate put it on their car go to a station that will let them fii up and take off. The video or attendant at said station catches the plate # and turns it into the cops then you have to state your case. So if your plate gets stolen {mine has} make sure you report it to the cops first then your local dmv. Then after you get the new use anti theft style allen bolts helps slow them down a little. along with that good ole red loctite on the threads to make them work for it.

I think this morning the news was saying someone (in another state) stole a whole bunch of gas. Maybe 5800 gallons, I dont remember.

From what I understood, they think someone in a tanker pulled up there and drained their gas tanks through the fill holes in the ground.

Now where did I put my garden hose?

I watched that too. WTF, no one noticed a freaking tanker at the station?

Drummer, do you need a side job?

4,000 Gallons of Diesel Stolen from Burbank Gas Station
Last Edited: Tuesday, 17 Jun 2008, 6:09 AM PDT
Created: Tuesday, 17 Jun 2008, 6:09 AM PDT

Burbank Police are looking for the person who stole 4,000 gallons of diesel from a gas station.
The owner of the Exxon station on N. San Fernando Blvd. says the theft occurred sometime before 5 a.m. Friday. When workers arrived, they found the underground tanks had been drained. The tanks weren't locked, but a special device is needed to open them. Police say whoever stole the fuel must have been driving a tanker truck.

ANOTHER ONE.....LOL

As gas prices soared across the nation, at least two people made an illegal fill up of about 4,800 gallons of gasoline from a business in Prince George County early Sunday morning.

Lt. Brian Kei of Prince George County Police said the owner of Wilkerson Oil Company arrived at his business on the 20000 block of South Crater Road at 7 a.m. and discovered the lock to a storage area behind the main building broken. Upon entering the area, the man saw that two of his gasoline tankers were missing.

Evidence at the scene showed that both vehicles, two red International trucks, were hot wired and the tanks were filled to the brim with between $18,000 and $20,000 worth of gasoline before they were driven away, Kei said.

A Maryland State Police spokesman said a 2000 International truck was found at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 95 in Howard County, Md. near the Baltimore County line. It was abandoned after having a mechanical failure.

Maryland State Police processed the truck for fingerprints and released it back to the owner. Police are still searching for the second vehicle, a 1999 model International truck

so we all agree....

we "borrow" racelife's brand new tag. And we go ahead and borrow a tanker truck too... and go fill up.

Free gas for all LUVs.... :ebiggrin

Looks like it is better to rob a loaded tanker then a Brinks truck.

I knew it was only a matter of time. Next they will be stealing trucks with the gas, then shooting the drivers.
We are going to go through some bad times for awhile.

A guy robbed a grocery store in the small town where I now live. The police shot him and 1 officer got shot. The guy had no record of any kind. People figure he got hard up.

The sad thing is the ladies car he jacked is now evidence till it's all over. It is her only car and she can't afford to get another one. The grocery chain should give her one of the cars I am sure they lease till it's all over.

If you don't have a locking gas cap it might be time to think about it before they go up (if they haven't already). BTW, do they make one to fit the LUV???

another new one I just heard about on the news. they are now dilling holes in peoplles gas tanks with a cordless to fill up a gas can. trucks and suv are thones being hit because the tanks are up higher and easier to access. It said most are vehicles with the poly tanks. man I hope they try a metal one soon or a spark from the drill creates darwin effect.

This happened a few weeks ago in Des Moines, Iowa. I older lady noticed that her rear plate was missing and later the cops called her. If you really want to make them work for it use green loctite. You have to heat it to get it to come loose.

I bought one for one of my trucks and I can jiggle it and take it off without the key. :? So if you buy one test it out real well.

Get some of those security screws. They are like a torx screw but have a spike coming out in the middle. I had to buy a set of drivers from snap-on before they became more common. I still never have them handy, and have to go find that set to use on them. Almost anything should work except regular screws or bolts. Lock-tite sounds good if you don't have to get new plates every year. Texas was like that for a long time, but not now. Every few years they give you plates, but they are talking about you keeping the same number(forever?)
