Yesterday I was driving and my truck started to overheat. I made it to my destination and I poped the hood when I saw that my truck had blown radiator fluid everywhere. Today when I looked at things a little closer I found that my center pulley with the fan blade was loose. It moves like theres no tomorrow. I dont know a thing about motors but I know that it shouldnt be like that. Does anybody have any idea what it might be? is my motor trashed or is it like some type of bearing that can be replaced??? I also noticed that it has a constant drip of antifreeze below that pulley. maybe that is the reason its blowing coolant everywhere?

Thanks for helping

Sounds like a water pump to me brother. Shouldn't be too expensive to replace. As for the motor it depends on how hot you let it get.

i no expert on motors either but i have dissasembled and put it back together more than once
so the better mechanix correct me if im wrong,
fan runs off of the water pump, so that could be loose causing the fan to be wobbling, and the water Will leak out if is not sealed completely

I have had my motor REALLY hot before (Thermostat), and it didn't really hurt it any. Are you saying that the pulley spins freely like it isn't connected to the belt? All you have to do is tighten the belt at the alternator, then. Otherwise, just replace the water pump.

Sounds like a water pump is needed.
