We heard you the first time Fulla....and the next...and the next...lol
We all aren't independantly wealthy like you Fulla, so we all can't just hop on line and order all of those brand new bright and shiny expensive parts and tools like the ones in all of your great pictorial slide shows. Some of us here work long hours for a low wage, and are trying to pay bills, and/or have to feed/clothe a family...so we have to just make do with whatever we can afford, and make the best of it we possibly can.
I personally can afford new stuff, but I don't bother to buy any if I can avoid it. You see, if I can find a used weber on ebay for $75.00 and rebuild it for $20.00 - then I'm not going to buy a new one for $300.00. If I can find a good used complete distributor for around $100.00 - then I'm not going to spend $300.00 for that either. My truck is built mostly with good used reliable parts that I inspected, cleaned up, and installed....and there are plenty of folks around here (*cough*ricers...lol) that can testify to the fact that it runs just fine.
And IMHO, $199.00 (plus shipping costs) for a rebuilt distributor that doesn't even include the ignition module is pretty damn expensive, considering buying a new module alone is pretty darn expensive too. And no junkyard will sell you a used ignition module out of their distributor, because then they wouldn't be able to sell their distributor to anyone else because it would be missing parts.
There are plenty of good reliable used ones all over just sitting on some shelf or still in some Isuzu vehicle in some junkyard somewhere that you should be able to get a heck of a lot cheaper. As long as the distributor shaft isn't damaged or rusty from setting, the shaft isn't all wobbly or loose, the vacuum advance works ok, and there is nothing else wrong with the distributor, then it will no doubt last a long time. Those little japanese made electronic distributors are pretty darn tough, and I've personally never seen or heard of a bad used one being pulled and/or sold in any junkyard I've come in contact with.
And I've been tinkering on old cars and trucks, yanking out old outdated parts and swapping in newer parts to improve on them, since about two days before dirt was invented, and about a week just before fire and the wheel showed up....lol
But hey...what the heck do I know? I just read Playboy for the articles...lol
