This is for an auto trans, is that right???

I am pretty sure there are only two types so to speak.
One has even spaced detents.
The other has a double space detent between Reverse and Neutral. Or it may have been between Park and Reverse.

Either way the TH180 should be the latter the same as most other GM auto transmissions (that includes the 4 speed auto Isuzu boxes.)

the problem with these is that there designed to mount to a GM trans (350/400/700R4) not that you couldnt make brackets to make it fit, but the throws would be wrong for an import trans. Thats why the the detent arm has multiple holes drilled in it? its to adjust the throws for the particular trans.

Pretty sure thats the way to go.
As fat as i am aware they are fairly universal. Cable shift means you can mount the shifter anywhere and then you just need a bracket for the other end. The shift linkage that goes on the box should be the std round with flats ground on each side.

Just need to be sure that the shifter you get has the right detent relationship. The double spacing thing.
Wouldnt be too hard for you to check.
You could cantact the shifter manufacturer, they will have a good idea of what it will fit and what it wont.

so i contacted the manufacter and this is what they said

Hello Tyler,

We do not offer a Shifter that will work for that particular transmission at this time. Should the demand for that product increase, we may look into designing something that would work for that application. If you have anymore questions, please let me know. I will be glad to assist you.

Thank you,

Wouldn't that be cool if there was enough intrest for them to make the Luv transmission it's very own shifter

Maybe your bracket and cable would work with some after market setup. We used to use early mustang automatic shifters on a lot of things. Also you could make a shifter post bent like you want to replace the one you have. Once you get it like you want you can have it powered coated or chromed...
