Yeah, we've kinda beat that one to death over at the IsuzuPup.com forum, and I doubt we're done.

One of our members is a retired Isuzu mechanic/trainer, and he seems to have good connections with Isuzu. He pretty much blames GM for the problems.
It's not Isuzu going extinct, it's just Isuzu's U.S. passenger vehicles. They'll still sell them overseas, and they'll still sell their commercial trucks like the NPR in the U.S. Those have always been sold through a separate network of dealers from their passenger vehicles.
I really think if they'd offered their i280/i350 with a clean diesel, they would have scored big in the U.S. market, since NOBODY offers a midsize diesel pickup.
