Talked to QA1 today. They gave me part numbers for street coil overs\
Shocks are ALN 4855P
Conversion Eye to stud mount SS110SDM
Springs 10-200 for 200 lb springs. Wonder if I need 400 lb for a small block

They have adjustable setups with 90/10 shocks but would run at least $800 dollars.

Street setup is considerably less.

So are you saying the 800 setup is good or the cheaper street regular coil overs.

It depends on your budget and how fast you plan on going. The super trick double adjustables are not as necessary at 11 seconds in the 1/4 as they are at 9 seconds. Of course, if you get them now you won't have to upgrade later...

This action is for a used set of 2 coil-over steel shocks with springs.
For any application combining a shock absorber with a coil spring.

Afco #1564, 17' extended 90/10, front drag race shocks
These are still cheap.
My measurements are 15 extended and roughly 10 to 11 loaded with no shocks on.
If I have to make upper mounts for these I think these will work. I can get the 17 extended by raising the mount on top for the bracket,
There is also 2 inches of adjustment left to lower the spring. Only thing is they are 400 lb springs.
As of now my oil pan is only 3 inches off the ground.
My truck is not going to be very fast. Just a street cruiser and play trips to the track. Not emough money to compete Will leave that up to my son when I am gone.

probably too tall

Thanks for the questions. The extended length measured from bolt to bolt is 19.5 and the compressed length measured bolt to bolt is 12.5". I assume the style of mounting can be changed, this is the only way we have ever run our ProShocks. We use the 400 lb springs on a 2700 lb car, so they might not be too stiff for your truck. Your truck probably doesn't weigh less than that. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Regards

And these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... :IT&ih=006

Up for auction on this NO RESERVE auction, is a pair of brand new threaded body aluminum Pro Shocks part# AC750B, a pair of brand new coil over kits and aluminum rod ends, and a brand new pair of 400# Eibach Springs. This pair of shocks/springs are brand new and were only used for display purposes. These 7" ProShocks are a #5 compression/ #5 rebound. We paid $525 for this pair of shocks, springs, coil-over kits, and aluminum rod ends. I am cleaning out the race trailer and have a few more sets of brand new shocks and coil-over kits (like these) and several sets of slightly used shocks.

well shoot, lost all of them except some g body QA1's. Have regular springs though that set in the original position on top and a tbar at the bottom. Really don't want to do a lot of fabbing.

Just want to thank mytmouz for all his help and input to my coil over attempt. Has gave me a lot of good info ideas to keep my project going, I will get these done as soon as I can win or buy the ones I decide on.

Been shooting him a lot of ?'s and would be lost without the help.

Once again this forum is the best there is.

Got to looking at bagged79's pics of his front air bags. Wonder if I can come off the frame with square tubing cut out the bottom and come straight over the control armd and use a shorter coil over.
Do they need to be at any certain angle or can they be perfectly straight up and down,

Pics are worth a thousand words. Thanks bagged

Well I ordered my coil overs today. Will post pics whenI get them installed.
Got the adjustable QA1 ProMo Stars with a stud conversion and 250 lb springs.
Should be pretty much bolt on.

Got mine from jegs.

Shocks are QA1 promo stars 122dr4855B
springs 12210-250
stud conversion 122ss110sdm

If you use the original eye mount on the shock on top and fab a mount you can do away with the stud conversion and save 80 dollars.

Yes, just bolt in with the top fabbed with the new plate and hole for the stud conversion.
You can go to my other posts and see my pics of the mount.

Here is one pic. Kinda ruff yet but will be smoothed and painted when finishes. Guess I need to put all the pics on one post or page unless one of the admin guys can do it.
Hope this helps. Will probably cut all the thin metal out and just leave the inside frame of pocket.

Like I said before though if you ever want to change springs you will probably have to drop the lower arm or take the upper loose.

The non adjustable ALN's are cheaper if you just want coil overs.
