I've pretty much decided on a 'theme' for my truck, but the interior has got me scratching my head. Basically what I'd like to do is sort of recreate the 'feel' of a late 60's full size Chevy truck.

I have a decent dash pad, with very minor cracks in the cap, the bottom is in really good shape. I'd like to either dye or paint it to match the interior of the truck. How would I do that? Is there a flex agent that needs to be added to the paint? How would I prep the dash cap? The plastic steering column cover? The steering wheel itself?

I'll try to get photos of the dash I've got, I'm sure someone has experience with this sort of thing...

The plan at this time is Rustoleum Grass Green and Almond, inside and out. The cab roof, top of the doors inside, dash, column and wheel will all be Almond. Rugs and soft goods will be a mix of both colors. The dash panels will probably remain black, but I might paint them green to give a bit more of a 'metal' feel to the interior. http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=150

When I redid my 83 full size chevy pickup a few years back I got some vinyl paint from a chevy dealer body shop. I repainted the dash and door panels. The paint seemed to stick good. You just have to make sure to clean the part really good.
