Can I cut out the center section of the tranny mount and leave the torsion bars for now without any trouble to make my removable mount. My driveshaft is almost direct inline. Might drop it a half inch at the most. See were the round bulge is resting on the original luv Xmember
Need to make new motor mounts and get rid of the access bulky ones,

Anyway got the stuff set on the frame for a trial run.

I don't see why not. You will need to make a sturdy bolt in section either over or under the tailshaft. This will keep flex down to a minimum. I would get a piece of thick wall 1x2 or larger if possible, and weld a piece of angle to each end to cap it. Then drill the angle for the bolts to mount it to the original crossmember. I would cut out just enough to clear the tailshaft along with about a 1/2 inch or so for clearance. That will leave plenty for the torsion bars.

Was thinking from the way it looks I could just get a piece of 3/8 angle iron wide enough to bolt to the cross member. Get a 3 or 4 inch angle so it is enough to set my single bolt through. Bolt the angle iron on the front of the xmember all the way through the original for removal if needed and maybe a 3/8 plate on the back side of the xmember for extra support on the original.

For around town and cruiseing it is great. Pretty responsive and still good down the raod. Have some 4:10's I am goig to put in eventually with my 700R4. Will make it act like 4:56,s with the lower 1st gear in the tranny than the 350. won't be on the highway much.

Do you still have the luv rear and do you drive it everyday. My preference for daily driving and the 350 tranny would be 3:73's or 3:42,s.
i am not a real expert on it but just my opinion. Ya got a sweet looking truck.

well unfortunatly i had to sell the red one it was my pride and joy! it had stock 4.56 rear and th350 tranny and would top out at 100. but im building a new luv that i recently bought i will be cruisin and rasin hell around town on weekends and maybe the track. but i know its gfonna be fast off the line even with high gear because power to weight ratio. I just really want to be on the interstate when one of those damn ricers come by reving at me knowing i can bust his ass at high and low speeds!lol

Put some 3:08 or 2:90's and 700r4 and you will ly down the highway and still burn the tires in town and hook up ok. Knew a guy who had the 2:90 in his and ran 120 easy if he wanted.
