Is there any vehicle I can pull a FI sytem use to fuel inject a 1.8L?
I figure that a FI system from anything bigger than a 1.8 would not work optimally.
I was told there's a website somewhere where you can buy a system, but you have to assemble it. Does anyone know the url?
Thanx

If you go to the ozgemini.com website and look up a user called "WFC" he does EFI.

Or look around that site for other ideas. plenty of guys have use plenty of stuff.

I would go for the setup off another 1.8L SOHC 8v motor. I have a 1.6L in my truck and i have the TBI and wiring loom and Delco 808 ECU off a 1.6L Family II GM motor that i am planning on fitting too it.
The TB wont be hard to fit. Plumb up an EFI pump change the fuel lines. O2 sensor in the exhaust. Modify distributor to take the FamII internals.

The GM Family II motor came in 1.8L and 2L with Multi point injection.

You probably have heaps of 1.8L motors that could have the EFI transplanted onto a luv motor. Some Lada cars had Delco EFI, not sure which.

The reason i say delco is that the 808 can be tuned by someone who has the propper gear. So if your std EFI project turns into a hot up down the track all you need to do is find someone who can tune a delco. Or learn to do it yourself.

Another good option would be to hunt down a G200Z Impulse and use the motor and EFI off one of them in your luv. The motor is way more common over your way than it is here. Or you could use a 2L turbo impulse or a 2.3L.

A while back I recall reading that weber was cooking up a bolt on throttle body injection system much like their carbs. Might be worth looking into that to see what they have too.

You can get the injection setup from a 1.9L Isuzu Impulse and hook it up to the LUV 1.8L too. I'm sure the fuel map in the ECM could handle the smaller motor, or better yet you could just swap in the whole motor and gain a few cubic inches in the process. Look for a non-turbo impulse, 87 or older.

I will need to go with something OEM, since I have to pass emissions. Anything ISUZU will probably be the way to go with my truck. I wish I had a 75 or older then I could go with the WEBER, HOLLEY etc. I need to move!

Track down an Impulse. Any one, it wont matter. They all has EFI and any would go better than a stock Luv.

Or you could find a 2.6L pup or a Trooper II. The motor will fit fairly easy.

Put the whole setup in. Will be easier than failing smog because the EFI does not suit the G180Z.
