I was wondering if any of you guys running air bags on your trucks are using the stock front control arms. Im interested in getting my truck low and using air to do it but im not sure a bag will fit in the confines between the control arms. Ive seen the rolling sleeve type that look like fat shocks but it looks like most guys use the other type. It has a smallblock and a 700 in it so there is a bit of weight up front. If not the stock a-arms than what are my choices. Id really like to get rid of the strut rod and get some tubular arms, but that approach seems a bit out of budget right now. Id be better off at that point to get a front clip from c.a. chassis works or fatman. Any help would be great, especially if there are pics. Thanks

You can modify the upper arm to get the truck to sit lower and you will most likely have to modify the frame next to the bag. I had to cut the factory bumpstops out and cut a section of the frame also to allow room for the bags. I have a 383/350 combo in my truck with 20" wheels.

Do you have any pics to show what you modified?

How did you handle the body mounts? Did you just cut them off and drop them the required amount, or did you recess them into the cab? If you had any pics I would appreciate it.. Thanks

i ran air cylinders... but i also cut the rim off the "cup" on the frame above the lower arm to allow for more clearance..get the new minitruckin mag and look at the mitsu tech article they turn the arm into a full control arm and you can mount a bag to that better also i have heard that if you cut the end of the arm and re attach it hight and then gusset it for strength that you can get the same effect as a drop spindle i have recently decided to run a new frame altogether and this one wont be bagged..... i have another truck for that any other help you need just ask
