 Post subject: Vaccuum Stuff
PostPosted: Sat Jun 07, 2003 2:27 pm
I have an 81 model LUV with the 1.8l motor. I live in AL so we don't have inspection on cars. I was wanting to take off all the polution crap so my motor will breathe better. Does anyone have any info on re-routing the vaccuum lines so I can go with a performance airfilter and take the canister, air pump, etc.... off of my motor.

Thx,
Chuck

Hey, thats easy ..just get a box cutter and start hacken.. there are only two lines left on my 80 project and thats the vacume advance and the one on the back of your carb that goes over to your engine. Just cap off all the left over holes! And that stupid pipe that comes out of your exhaust manafold unhook it and plug both ends....i used a tapered solid mandrel for the manafold.I did remove my intake manafold and fliped it upside down and removed the plate and cut out a blocker plate to cap it so i didnt have to keep that stupid pipe! Anyways, Good Luck.

sometime you can tell that the motor is running better once all that stuff is gone(like on my 82 f-150). You might see an increse in fuel milage but thats about it in a luv i think.
