Just intruducing myself. I'm building a Street/Strip LUV and reaching the final stages. I hope to have it on the road before the snow melts. The one thing I haven't been able to find are fiberglass front and rear bumpers. If anyne knows of a company that makes them let me know. I'll be internet-less due to a short vacation for a few days, but will check back next week and post in one of the other forums.

Thanks

sorry if there were double post had some computer problems

Kinda tough to wedge in a 454 and leave room for a driver. Almost gave up and though about extending the front end and using an extended S-10 cab, but finally got a workable setup.

Looks small next to its big brother

Welcome to the site. Very nice ride you got there. I also have a Luv with a BBC. Fun to drive. Couple questions. Where did you get the hood and scoop? I have been wanting to get a setup like that. And where abouts are you located at in Minnesota? You did a nice job on your truck.

I'm located just outside of St. Cloud MN. Truck has a stock hood with a fiberglass scoop. It won't fit with the Tunnel Ram right now (motors out of my boat). However once I get everything finished and know that its driveable. I plan on building a 12:1 540ci and run it off E-85 using a Holley Commander 950 EFI system.

I bought the truck as seen in the first pic for 3K with no motor or trans. and orginally was going to part it out. It started to grow on me and I decided to finish it for a winter project the problem was that it was set up for someone under 5ft tall. I moved the motor ahead 3", cut the firewall out and moved that forward 8", raised the floor 4" so I could add 3" exhaust with chrome stacks.

Hummm.........sounds easy when I type it, but it was a lot of work.

Oh ya, No it doesn't fit inside the box of the 3/4 ton and both trucks have 454, but with the LUV at less than half the weight and twice the HP. I don't think it will be much of a race.

Later

I know what you mean about being a tight fit for the driver. My firewall has been moved back about 8" in the center around the back of the engine. I am 6'4". Sounds like your truck should run pretty good. My dad bought my truck like it is about 15 yrs ago and I got it from him in '99. Did some work to it the first couple yrs and have been racing it about the last 6-7 yrs. Once you start working on it and racing the truck it is hard to stop. It is a blast and you get to meet some really nice people. I have some relatives in Long Prairie, Mn.
