I just bought a weber carb for a 1980 luv.The lock down on the throttle cable does not line up with the bracket. If I cinch it down the end of the cable will not reach the bracket to the butterflies. What should I do?

Hmm...never heard of that before...mind if I ask you to post two more times and then post a pic?

(You need at least 5 posts to post pics to keep the spammers out.)

Guys, got the carb working with a reworked bracket. But it still craps out after taking off.I say it needs a new fuel pump. And if it does any suggestions on what to buy would be helpful.I checked the fuel line from the tank to the pump, not sucking air.

Don't forget to add a fuel pressure regulator.

Hey 79-LUV'r, do you happen to know the brand and model # of the fuel pressure regulator you are running. What do you run it at?

Should the fuel pressure regulator be mounted in the engine compartment? Should it go before or after my inline filter? Thanks for the info.

Yes, engine compartment between the filter and carb. Just find the carb stem the fuel line attaches to, squeeze fuel line til you can't feel the stem, go about 3" or so, cut and install.

Any one know where to hook up the electric choke? The old hicrappy carb had the plastic conector for the carb. Do i cut out the two wires that I need from it or do I have to wire a ground and a hot wire from some where else? Its the only thing I have left to do. Thanks

Just find which wire has 12V with the key on, and use that. They might both have.
