I was at Ft Ord in '89 for the Loma Prieta quake, and I have to say as someone had never experienced that before it was quite a "treat".

I remember watching cars vibrate and bounce across parking lots into one another... reminded me of the old Electronic Football game( yeah, I'm that old) :)

And the aftershocks for months afterward, felt one while sitting on a waterbed and another one evening while I was up a 40' guard tower ... THAT was the worse one, once second I'm facing west looking out at the Pacific, the next thing was like someone yanked a rug out from under me and I'm looking at the ceiling of the tower as the legs flexed back and forth clockwise then counter about 4-5 times. 8O

Yeah, yall can keep em...I'll take my chances with Tornados :)
