Well I'm at work here at NAS Lemoore yesterday and I get a call that I have to run out to our fuel skids (like a gas station where we can refuel jets while they're still running) to refuel a jet. So I grab my gear and run out there to wait for it. The skids are located at the end of the last taxi way, so the plane has to land, go through a hot brakes check and then taxi all the way down to the skids to refuel. So I'm sitting there waiting with a couple other guys and I see a aircraft heading our way, only it looks funny. Its a lot bigger than a Super Hornet, and it looks different. It gets a little closer and I see that its a different kind of aircraft. So I grab a guy with a radio and call in to find out what is going on. They say "Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you, its not a Super Hornet, its a Prowler (EA6B)"

Then it comes a little closer and I can see through the fog that no shit, its a prowler. The first one I've ever seen. So then I had to figure out how to hook up the fuel line and all that on an aircraft I've never even seen before, but it turns out that you refuel it exactly the same as and F18.

But it was cool to see it.

It was little hard to take pics while fueling it. Hopefully I'll get some next time. Also I didn't have my camera that day. There would have been some cool pics though. It sat on our flight line waiting to taxi out for about 15 minutes, with 4 or 5 Super Hornets next to it, waiting for their turns. It was pretty cool.
