I've been avoiding my intro. I got my 82 luv from an older woman for free. She did not know about glow plugs so she could not start it and let is sit for two long years. By the time I got ahold of it, it was rusty as heck. Not wanting to face the cancer at the time I just sanded her down like mad and covered her up with rust proof paint. I then left the country for two years trusting my family to take care of her... Long story short I got back recently and found her pretty beat up. Good news. I'm getting her into the shop in early January to take care of the rust once and for all. After I weld in the new panels I've been saving up and put her in primer I am gonna swap out the diesel for something with more go. then I'm gonna bag her and rail the crap out of her. Glad I can share the experience with yall. Thanks for all your help so far.

A free diesel Luv? There is value there even if it's rusty. One of the other members here is putting a diesel combo in an earlier Luv. Sorry I can't remember who, it's in his tag line tho'...

You might want to also check out the Pup site. A lot of good diesel info there, and the site owner is also a member here.

Welcome to the site :)
