I have an 87 isuzu diesel with the drive train out of 81 or 82 luv, everything was swapped with the exception of the rear end. I have virtually no first gear. I am looking to change the gearing in my truck from the 4.1 to the 3.73. I read that the ring was 41 teeth on both of them but the pinion was 10 on the 4.1 and 11 on the 3.73. My question is, are the two rings the same part? In other words, can I just change the pinion from a 10 tooth to an 11 tooth and be done? If I can, does anyone have one for sale? If it can't work, give me some alternatives. Thanks a lot guys.

Ring gears and pinions should always be used as a matched set.
