Looked in my new Jeg's cat. are you setting down? MSD front drive dist. part num. 121-8510 $493.99 Oil pump drive part num. 121-8513 $111.99 add wires and misc. and it adds up fast. Or crank trigger$267.99 and a dist. with crab cap$202.99 ( low profile) Hope this is some help.

Cut some more out of the firewall, cut some more out of the bed so there's room for the tires to flex at speed, and stared and planned for a while

Threw the headers I built for the 'yota on it for shits and giggles. Actually fit pretty well.....as long as you don't mind the headers in the interior

Here's a shot to give ya an idea of how far the motor is set back. I swear that notch for the hood latch was really made for a double pumper 8) Hopefully the airgap intake doesn't move it back any... 8O

And another just to show how tiny it is

One more. Almost tucks the 15's in front with the torsion bars at factory height 8)

OUCH 8O . I'm gonna make room for the stock dizzy to run on the 327 then decide if I want to go with a cranktrigger and the flat dizzy for the next motor

Been slowly but surely peicing it together. Mounted the fuel cell, pump, and filter. Cut a bunch of unneeded brackets and wutchamawoozits off to take some more weight off. Ordered a bunch of 1.75" .120 wall tubing so I can start bending up the cage for it. Bought a Tig welder and am learning to weld aluminum so it will get an aluminum interior/firewall instead of 20 gauge. Set the pinion angle, welded the perches on and backbraced the rear axle then added some paint to it. And no I didn't forget that I need to drill holes in the brace for the u-bolts

Here's a teaser. Will have more soon

just a heads up for you, most ppl that build cages for the strip use .134 wall tube so it passes tech after it's been bent for the cage

I've seen dirt track cars with .083 and smaller(scary) but I know NHRA mandates .120 wall and most tracks have the means to sonic test for thickness that's why most people go with the .134 wall it's only a couple pounds (2-5 i can't remember) difference for a 20 ft stick anyway. You could run the .120 everywhere else other that the main hoop and halo and probably be ok,just better to be safe than sorry.

I haven't done anything to this in forever as all my money has been going into this pig.

However, with racing season coming back and the fact that my old man got his Elcamino going, the "itch" has returned

I just ordered a competition engineering 4-link back half, and I'm going to be cracken on this thing to get her ready. I'm ditching the stepside bed due to tire clearance issues and will be running a bobbed fleetside

Well this pour truck has been severely ignored. Other projects and a little fight with cancer have left this sitting buried in the corner for quite some time. Now that my cancer is gone, my old man is going to help me with finishing this thing so he has someone else to race with 8)

Drug it out of the corner, started the cage, burned the fire wall out and started on a new one, mounted the cab, picked up a mustang 2 frontend to swap under it, did a competition engineering 4-link backhalf, and a couple small things.

Thanks guys, although for having cancer I was pretty lucky. It all went pretty smoothly once they figured out what was up. The sucky part is that being only 21, I'm supposed to be living like I'm never gonna die, not actually almost dying. Never smoked, parents didn't smoke either, never done drugs, barely ever drink, and I get diagnosed with lymphoma two months after turning 21  . It took them about a month to figure out why I was so sick and my back was in so much pain(I had a big tumor pushing on my spine, and two big ones in my neck, and scattered small ones). In that month I lost almost 30 pounds. I'm 6'3 and the day I left the hospital I weighed in at a mighty 138 pounds 8O

After they finally diagnosed it and got the ball rolling on it I was in such bad shape they put me in a drug induced coma for three days to stabalize me. Then after waking up I spent another six days in the hospital. The breathing tube screwed up my vocal cords and I couldn't talk (could just barely whisper) for a month and a half. Once I was home though it was all uphill. I pretty much had to learn to walk again 'cause my legs lost all their strength(stairs were killer). But by the time I was halfway through my chemo treatments (total of 8 every two weeks apart) I was back out on my dirtbike and working on my trucks again. It's been almost two months since my last chemo and so far so good 8)
