Hey shawunltd i believe this is your truck? http://www.hotrodsforsale.com/cgi-bin/others/import_truck/classifieds/atl.cgi?ct=8&md=second&id=5 I knew I saw this truck a couple years ago online and I think it was even listed on eBay in the past. I thought it was sweet when I saw it then, but I knew they wanted a little too much for it. It would have made for a nice ride even for that price if you compare to what a new Colorado is today (with much more plastic). Thing is, I would hate to use it for a daily driver knowing how nice it is. Good luck with the truck and keep taking it to the shows!

Sure nuff that's it.

Thankfully, I didn't pay that much for it. But yea I know what you mean about not using it for a daily driver. In fact the guy wouldn't even sell it to someone who he thought would do that. Right after I got it and I mean within a couple of days I bought another one for a daily driver.

Funny thing is a couple of years ago when the same guy had it on Ebay I was as broke as one could be and when I saw it "I thought dang I may never see one like this again; man I was kickin and cussing cuz I had run my self so short on the finances.

So when she popped up again and this time I had the money; I pulled the damn trigger while I had the chance.
Thanks for telling me about that add though cool :0 Later ......

Yeah I swore that when I saw yours that I had seen it before online and on eBay over the last couple years. I am sure if you search back through the classifieds or auction links here on the site you might come across all the listings and posts on it. It would probably be funny to read. I know when I saw that the first time I kind of thought about it for a daily driver, but I knew I would hate to get it all dirty and in the snow. So now my '79 4x4 Mikado is getting completely restored and will be better suited for the Winter weather. It is a little more expensive, but it is still cheaper than brand new and it will be like brand new when finished, if they stop putzing around on it and get some more work done! When I get more pictures I will definitely post them here. Here is the link to the beginning of the destruction phase and a couple pics of the donor truck I picked up this Spring.

Holy hell!! I knew the LUV was prone to rust... but damn!!

Was it under water or something?

Wish I had something else to drive, would love to give mine a complete tear down/restore... I know the rust is still lurking under there :x

Well almost 30 years in the Pennsylvania moisture and salt will cause havoc! I don't know how it was kept before I got it in 2004. It was painted a little darker red than the stock color as you can see in the pics. Fortunatley the parts truck I got back in May has a better condition cab, bed and frame. The frame from this red truck is now on my firewood LUV. I will have to get a pic of that posted with it loaded to the max with firewood! lol Maybe before it was painted the rust wasn't removed? Maybe they never waxed it before or after the paint job. Either way, yeah, that is bad rust! The truck even came from near Harrisburg, which is like 3 hours South of me. Still bad Winters, but not quite as bad as further North where I am at. I will post more pics on the page when the progress is further along.

I've been asked by several of ya'll through Pm's on how to add your names to the group. Well for some reason some of my messages (Replies) aren't going out so thought I would put it here for ya :)

"When your looking at your messages in your inbox you will see at the top of your screen just alittle off center to the right "LUVTRUCK.COM" and below that "User Options".

Below that, you will see "FAQ , Search, Memberlist, Usergroups" If you click on "Usergroups" you will then see a list of the respective groups on here. And that's should be where you will find the place to add yourself to the Texas Usergroup."

For along time now, there has been one for Idaho, Washington and California. Ben just gave us one for Texas.

If you have any difficulty finding it just let us know, one of us will help ya
out.
Good luck, and Thanks :)
