For reference here are pics of the other Offenhauser manifolds for the LUV. Thanks goes out to SoYank for providing the pics for us. I am not sure on the last one, is it the 6059-DP? If so I will redo the pic and add the number to the photo. If I have any of these pics labeled wrong please let me know so I can correct it.

Just had a message on my answering machine from Offenhauser. They received my payment and as we knew, the order had been placed with the foundry and we are just waiting on them to cast the manifolds. He said he would be calling me again by the end of the week with an update.

What are you guys doing for the EGR? Do you plan to install the base and plug the valve? Is there a block off plate available, or has anyone made one up?

What's the price on these intakes?

Awesome work Mokadeth, I know there is lots of anticipation brewing on account of all your leg work. I doubt I can afford one, but thank you. I might get lucky enough to buy one used off of someone here in 5 years... :)

nukeday...The Offy 6204 CW doesn't have any egr hook-ups plumbed into it, so it isn't a problem. Nor do you need an adapter to bolt on a weber 32/36 or 38/38 carb to it. The rest of the stuff you still do need (coolant hose connectors, vacuum hose connectors, etc.) are already threaded or plumbed into it so you can swap your old stuff from your stock intake over to it.

Technically, it's for off-road/racing applications only - which is why it has no smog connections in it. But if you live in an area that has no smog certification requirements like I do - then it really doesn't matter.

For the stock Isuzu intake, you can remove your intake, flip it upside down, remove the egr, and use a die grinder to hog it out or use a large drill to clean it out a bit and thread it with a tap to plug the hole in the intake that is there for the egr.

You can also take that stupid constantly leaking crossover pipe that runs from the intake to the exhaust off and plug it off in the exhaust and the intake manifold too. I just cut the tubing off, remove the fittings from the exhaust and intake manifolds, removed the tubing out of the fittings, threaded the inside of both fittings, plugged them, and then put the plugged fittings back in on my old G180 engine's exhaust and intake.

To eliminate the the air injector rail, I just cut off the small tubes going into the injector nozzles, screwed the fittings out of the head, removed the tubing from them, threaded the centers of the nozzles, re-installed the nozzles back in the head, and used some grade 8 allen screws with thin brass washers to plug them.

After you remove the air pump, air injection stuff, egr stuff, etc., you will have a much cleaner looking engine that runs and sounds a lot better.

Everything you will need to de-smog it you can easily find at any hardware store pretty cheap. I used brass plugs for the big stuff, but steel ones for water pipe will do too, as long as they seal.

I know for sure when I completely de-smogged my old stock G180, bolted on my header, and switched to an electronic ignition with a 50 amp alternator, plus added a weber 32/36 carb, it made a huge difference in my fuel economy and especially the amount of horsepower/torque it had.

It wasn't quite as potent as my current Impulse 1.9 G200 engine with all of the above plus a slightly beefier than stock cam and the bigger weber 38/38 carb, but it was still fun as hell to drive.

I hope all of that helps ya!

Nukeday, the price will be $220 USD + shipping and insurance. Thanks for all that info taz! I think some of this has been mentioned before, but is still a good read for those you don't know. I got another courtesy call today from Offy just wondering if I had got his last message. Wow, what a difference from the previous months, now I am getting calls and updates all the time. He said he would be in touch with me Friday or Monday to keep me updated. We should have these in plenty of time for stocking stuffers! Tell the wives so they save up for them! I just hope I don't get swarmed with new orders and run out of them! A reorder would not take as long the next time around though. I will let you guys know when I hear anything new.

Well I talked to Offy today and he informed me that they should be receiving the manifolds at Offenhauser either Friday, Monday or maybe Tuesday at the latest, but he said most likely Friday. He will inspect them before the machining process to see if there are any defects and then he will be getting back to me to let me know exactly how many there are. There could have been one or 2 over or under in the run. He said he will be contacting me again once he has that info. So it looks like maybe 2 or 3 weeks and I should have these! I am surprised the foundry got them cast this quick. I was expecting another week or 2. So we should definitely have these before Christmas, probably more like early November. So tell all the wives what you want for Christmas under the tree this year! I will keep everyone posted when I find out more.

Oh yeah, anyone know what the model # is on that last photo? I believe it is the dual-plane model. Is it the 6059-DP? If we can confirm this I will add that number to the picture for identification purposes.

Well I talked to Offy Monday evening and he informed me that the rough castings will be coming in from the foundry on Tuesday. He said he will be in touch with me again when they get done machining them and when they are almost ready to ship. He said probably around Friday the 26th. Once I receive them I will figure out the weight and packaging and then I will start getting you guys' info so I can figure out the shipping costs. I will keep everyone posted when I hear more.

Thats because hes paid for the casting and now he wants to be sure you will pay for the manifolds. lol

Ive had the same thing here with the heater hose fittings for the factory manifold.

They didnt make the exact part. So i rang up to question about what bits they made (in brass) that i could use to make threaded replacments. (pull the old fitting tap the hole and screw in the new one) They were onto it. What do you want and how do you want it??? How does it work can we make em press in as per factory??? etc etc. Even sent me freebies. Then the big boss rang up, what motors makes and models will it fit etc. Marketing genius. lol.

Of course he is being courteous now that he is ready to cash in on my order! Actually he is pretty good to talk to. He is just keeping me updated now that things are rolling. It took them long enough to get this done, but it will be worth the wait.

Update from Offenhauser today. He called me this evening and said that they are machining the manifolds right now and the guy that he has doing it is pretty good with the 4 and 6 cylinder manifolds. The run was a couple over and looks like there were no defects. He said he will be calling me on Monday or Tuesday with the final details and to work out the shipping. He said they will probably ship out sometime next week. So I will probably get them sometime the following week if all goes well. I will keep everyone posted as things progress. Once I receive them and see how big the packages are and the weight, I will figure out the shipping costs and will contact everyone that wanted one through PM with all the details. Everyone who was on the list will get 1st preference on them. I don't think there will be a problem though and I should have plenty. Finally we will be getting these after all these months of waiting! 8)

Mokadeth, I am interested in getting one of the manifolds too.
I wanted to make sure from a previous post you had when you said
Quote:
He didn't have a picture of the 6204-CW, but I guess the 6204-C is very similar, just the bolt holes are a little different for the Holley carb
Are you going to have a couple of different choices?
I would be bolting it my to the stock 1.8 Liter, but later on am going to take a 2.0 Liter out of a Trooper and build that. My understanding is the manifold is compatiable with both.
Thanks!

I had you on my list as a maybe I believe? To clear up any confusion on that post you quoted from..... I was meaning that when he sent me all the information he had on the manifolds, he didn't have any pictures of the manifold that I am getting (the 6204-CW which bolts up directly to the Weber carb 32/36). The picture he did send me was of the 6204-C which bolts up to the Holley carbs. Both of these manifolds are very similar so I just posted the information and all the pictures I had for informational purposes. The only ones I am getting at this time are the 6204-CW for the Weber carbs. Sorry if there was any confusion. Maybe in the future if there is enough demand for the other types I will see about ordering them. But they way it looks now most everyone here in the states wants the 6204-CW. And I do believe the manifold will bolt up to the 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0 motors. Let me know if you want one for sure, and if so I will PM you with all the info when I receive the manifolds. Keep an eye out in this thread as I will post more updates when I hear back again from Offy.

I indicated interest before.
Please keep me on the "maybe" list for the time being.

Huge props to you, Moka, for persevering & seeing this all the way thru.

Thanks SoYank. I do have you on my list as a maybe. And yet more good news..... Monday afternoon I returned Offy's call and he informed me that the manifolds will be shipped out on Wednesday and he wanted to confirm my shipping address. I should get them sometime mid to late next week. Once I receive them I will take some new pictures of one for this thread and I will PM everyone with all the details. Tell all the wives and girlfriends to break open the piggy bank and give your LUV some love for an early Christmas gift! :D I will let you guys know when the manifolds arrive, just please try not to bombard me with messages. I know a lot of you guys want a manifold and have been waiting very patiently just as I have, so I certainly will try to get them out to everyone as quickly as I can. Thanks again everyone for waiting it out through this whole process. If I run out and need to order more it shouldn't be as long of a wait as it was this first time.
