Ok so the other day i was helping my bro drop a 350 in his 72 c10, it was getting dark so we called it a night. On the way to pick up his car (in my luv) i wanted to show him the improvement the new carb had made, so cruzin at 30 i give it a little more gas, out of the corner of my eye i catch a red bug creeping past my window, without hesitating i punch it. its a pretty even match up. after about a block we both let up and just cruze. the bug pulls away, ahead i see the light turn red. i turn to my brother and said jokingly i hope we catch them at this light, and sure enough we did. i glance over and catch eyes with the driver, they rev a couple of times and i (knowing its on) nod and rev in acceptance. i turn back to the light my eyes are fixed on it, seconds later, Green. first has come and gone to fast, i slip it into second so cleanly i could barely feel it, the smooth deep pur from my truck is soothing, i glance over to see the bug's nose even with mine, i hesitate slightly going into third and the bug inches ahead, seeing this i bury my foot in the floor, we are even again but i am worried that i wont have enough power to keep up in fourth, the time comes to shift... to my surprise we pull ahead, alltho in the back of my mind i think top speed may be the determining factor of this race, to my relief i see we are nearing another light. They are the first to let off as we come to the light.
I won. I look over to see if there up for another go, they look away quickly and turn off. I look to my brother, he seems slightly impressed.

I would like to thank those of you here for your input, without you i wouldn't have installed the weber, and might not have won the race. :D

My first car... My Grandmothers old 68 Buick Riviera. It had a big block 430 , auto and posi, stock. It was very powerful, but very heavy.

Everyone at school would ask me why I would drive such an ugly car. (this was mostly from people on foot, go figure) For me it was this or the bus. and I wanted to drive!

Because I was always asked this I put a plate frame on the back that said.."It's faster than any VW."
Well, after a couple races with not so stock bugs, I took the frame off. I had no idea until then what a VW was capable of..

I, years later, for a while had a 1960 Bus, and I built a dual carb'ed, 1776 for it. What a blast!! 8)

There is always something faster out there.

As the saying goes speed (Horse power type) costs money. How fast do you want to go. :D

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
