Howdy everybody well I see in the Luv history page we know about how many of these trucks were sold for these years. But does anyone have or know where to go to find out how many were actually made and how many of those were two and four wheel drive? Thanks guys :)

Yes sir u got that right. Like your truck looks cool. I have a 79 4x4 that I've been working on for a couple of years. And I just purchased a 1980 4x4 Baby Blue Mikado all Original....maybe the best condition I've seen so far I'm exicted :) I was looking on here to see who had some in stock and original condition and during that search I remember seeing your red one NICE JOB DUDE !!

Glad you like it, I plan to keep it as stock as I can. Being my daily driver, I have to juggle for time when I get ready to do anything drastic.

Have only done a few necessary mods, paint, weber, pertronix ignition, would like to swap out for a better cam, shave head a little and Pacesetter header.

The baby blue you mention, is that the one that was on Ebay a few weeks ago? That was the most perfect stock condition LUV I've ever seen.

Good question not sure yet as the truck is in route. I think you asked the guy on ebay the same question or did u? But I don't remember his answer. And I didn't ask. Now you have me curious. But I guess I'll find out. Why do you ask?

WTG on your purchase of that LUV!! I have seen that one for sale on eBay before if it is the same one. If it is all original then it is in hella nice shape, especially for a 4x4! Most 4x4's are in rough shape (especially here in the North since they are in the snow and mud all the time). My nice LUV is a stock 2wd '80 with the baby blue paint like yours (the one pictured in my avatar) and is in super shape for a LUV from this neck of the woods! Best of luck with the truck and enjoy it!

Welcome to the sight too. There are a few Texans around here. 2 of us actualy in the same dinky town of Brownwood, about 3 hrs north of San Antonio. We are tenativley planning a meet in Abilene toward the end of Oct.

I have a friend who lives in Boerne, we're due a visit. Would be cool to see that truck in person while I'm down there.

Jim

by the way... do you know of any salvage yards in your area with parts?

Welcome and nice purchase.

I remember the seller saying he wouldn't sell to someone who wants to make it a daily driver. It is a show truck and should treated that way.

I would feel bad the first day I drove it in the rain and got the underside all dirty, but hey, it's not an antique Porsche museum piece. It's an old truck that was well preserved. I'm driven it!
Any way, enjoy your new truck, when you get it.

Your blue 2 wheel drive looks cool too dude! Gotta appreciate all the "LUV" out there right? :) Well since several of us are talking here I'll try to respond generically to minimize confusing conversation lol

I noticed in the usergroups that I don't see a Texas Luv Club? So that was one reason for asking cause we need an official one and yes to the guy that has friends in Boerne keep in touch we'll hook up I'm for seeing your truck also. like I said gotta appreciate all the LUV out there right? lol Any body coming through here is welcome we'll all get together. San Antonio is is more centrally located than Abilene but I can see where we would all have to take turns traveling.......Of course being a "newbie" on here maybe all of this is happening already?? So who has the car show schedules ? and who organizing something? More Details? :)
Waiting for my truck is worse than when we were kids waiting to open presents at x-mas :(
