First you will have to decide if you want to keep the stock 6 lug or switch to 5. I personaly had 20" wheels on the back of mine and the frame was laying the ground. As for the front you will have to do some custom work like inner fenders, custom upper control arms and lower control arm work but they will fit.

I think you might could get away with 20s if you bagged everything. Famer has 18's on his Luv with the stock suspension.

I say go for it. Cut the inner finders and wheel wells and make it work. 8)

Ah you must be referring to my avatar. That isn't my truck that is the Need-Ful Things truck.

The owner is Lukasz Granicy from Lancaster, California

That truck is basically a bagged Toyota with a Luv body. His hood is a stock hood that has been cut down the body line then filled to turn it into a cowl.

well it all depends on how much of a bodydrop your goin to do and the overall size of the wheel and tire.

if the wheel and tire combo is too tall with the amount of bodydrop that you have, the tire will stick out of the hood and look dumb.

now to lay a 20 with stock luv suspension, it would be best to "z" the frant portion of the frame. you have the z the frame anyways when you bodydrop a luv.

I had 20" wheels on the front also. The truck that I'm building now has the same frame work mostly done now. You will have to fab the upper control arms and frame sections above the lower control arms. The luv will not lay frame in the front until this is done because the upper ball joint limit out before they touch. The work is easy and if you have access to a plasma cutter, torch and mig welder that you in business. The only thing that I still need to do is box the upper control arms. Take a look at the pictures and feel free to ask questions. The setup will work with the V8. because thats what both of my trucks had!

Thanks,
Craig

No that's not the only thing that I did on both trucks. The frame must be cut out and the bumpstop bracket must be completely removed along with the front lower control arm struts being swapped. The frame will need to be notched to alow the driver side tie rod arm to travel when the front is lowered all the way down. The rear must be c-notched or step I went with the step on the last truck and will do the same with this one. The exhaust will have to end at the back of the cab and be dumped. You can do a 1"-1 1/2" body drop to the truck with mininal work. Insted of the conventional 2-4"

A 1.5'' bodydrop will make it lay on the pinch of the rocker. But the bed will still have a gap when layed out. If you want the front portion of the bed to lay out too. You will have to modify the rockers by cutting them down even with the bed.

Dan is correct the bed will sit higher that the cab. The 1-1/2" body drop is very easy to do because you don't have to cut the bed floor out. If you go more that that the brake booster needs to be raised. Cutting the floor on the bed is a chore. The bed floor is seamed to the sides and the fender wells
